Myofascial Disruption Technique with Dr. Hayes

Dr. Hayes co-developed an exciting treatment technique called Myofascial Disruption Technique.  Dr. Brad Hayes in association with Dr. Malcolm Conway and Dr. Hugh Gemmell helped develop and helps teach this technique to doctors internationally.

    • MyoFascial Disruption Technique (MFDT) MyoFascial Disruption Technique (MFDT) is a hands-on approach to treating soft tissue injuries. MFDT recognizes that most, if not all, soft tissue injuries are a result of a separation or a disruption of the fascia. [fascia - a sheet or band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft structures of the body.]

The fascia can separate at the origin or insertion of a tendon or ligament. The fascia can separate within the muscle in a band like separation. It can ‘wrinkle’ like a shirt pulled out from your hamper. It can ‘un-coil’ in the extremities like a twisted slinky toy. Dr. Hayes repairs the fascia by 'ironing the wrinkle', meaning he re-attaches the fascia which eliminates your pain.

    Rehabilitation & Functional Movement Strategies

Dr. Aucker will begin by going through the treatment protocols for rehabilitation. This is the perfect mix of education, evidence-based techniques, and hands-on training. Chiropractic adjustments will focus on the full spine, as well as extremity techniques. The myofascial portion will consist of in-office and home protocols. In-office techniques will be focused on instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, both immobile and with movement, (similar to Graston technique) and an array of trigger point therapy, pin-and-stretch, and other myofascial release techniques. The home protocols will be centered around the use of a foam roller, roller stick, lacrosse ball, and mobility peanut. Finally, rehabilitation will start with assessment protocols created by Vladimir Janda and Craig Liebenson, educational background, and corrective exercises/protocols. No matter what your background training may be, you will definitely be able to apply something to your everyday practice to help patients and boost revenue

    FACT: Functional Analysis Chiropractic Technique

Functional Analysis bases its technique on gentle touch and light thrusting by hand or instrument. This low-force adjusting method allows the nervous system to better integrate and understand the new corrective information and to process it throughout the spinal cord and brain. Functional Analysis utilizes your breathing patterns and how you walk and move to determine the most appropriate places to treat, not just pain. Reconnecting your body with your brain is one of our main goals.

Taping & Techniques with Sports Medicine

In this seminar Dr. Dale Morgan will teach:

    • Athletic and Kinesio taping methods for all major areas of the body
    • Overview of examination and treatment of common injuries
    • Working as a team or event chiropractor in various circumstances.  How to get involved.  Patient/athlete forms, informed consent and risk management.
    • Sports Chiropractic clinical pearls and tips
    • Case Studies in Sports Chiropractic
    • Concussion protocols

Sports Chiropractic is for everyone.  It doesn’t just benefit your athletic patients, but is valuable for your everyday regular patients also.  Every patient wants to improve or regain something they’ve lost.  Whether they’d like to run faster, or jump higher; or just to be able to bend over without pain.  They want the easiest, fastest, safest way to recovery and improvement.

Please wear comfortable, loose clothing as this is a hands on program.

Having a lifelong interest in sports and athletics, Dr. Morgan pursued the advanced post graduate Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician designation through National College of Chiropractic, completing the 3 year Sports Diplomate programin 1993.  Dr. Morgan has served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Chiropractic Society was chairman of the MCS Sports Committee.   In the early 1990s he served as event chiropractor for the Professional Bowlers Association, the Internation Jet Ski Association, inline skating events, rodeo and bicycling races in Michigan.

A former motorcycle racer and mechanic, Dr. Morgan followed his passion, and in 1994 began working with the American Motorcycle Association Grand National Flat Track racing series.  In the ensuing years, Dr.Dale has served at over 120 national races around the country, ranging from Del Mar, California, to Daytona Beach, Florida.  Frequently, Dr Morgan is the only physician at these events and is called on to evalulate and treat serious injuries from broken bones to concussions in addition to the usual racing assortment of sprains, strains and bruises.

Dr. Morgan also served as Team Chiropractor for the Detroit Vipers Hockey team of the International Hockey League from 1995 to 2002.  In this capacity, Dr. Morgan worked directly with the team surgeons, doctors and trainers.  Keeping a chiropractic adjusting table in the trainer's room at the Palace of Auburn Hills arena, Dr. Morgan was often called on to treat the players before, between periods and after games.  A number of former players continue to see Dr. Dale for regular chiropractic care.

As a sports chiropractor, Dr. Dale tends to view all patients as athletes.  At least in the context that they're seeking his care and counsel to either perform better or to regain something that they've lost.  This might be someone who wants to perform at his or her optimum.  To be able to run faster, jump higher or perhaps in the case of a motorcyclist, to be able ride harder and longer.  Or, maybe that patient is just hoping to be able to bend over to tie their shoes without pain.  Regardless of the case or condition, we always offer the patient all available options to return to their full potential as quickly as possible.

Chiropractic Intervention for Neurological Decline: Alzheimers, Depression, Fibromyalgia and more

This is a revolutionary program that will bring a new outlook on these debilitating diseases and enable chiropractors to offer a valuable service to a growing population that are affected with the symptoms associated with mental decline.

Get back to the basics of health with Dr. Dolbin.  Many studies show the importance of diet, exercise and lifestyle balance on mental health, which extends to functional health.  As chiropractors, we need to look at the whole picture, not just the site of symptoms.  Using new research from many different well-respected sources, Dr. Dolbin has put together a program that outlines the major influences on mental issues such as dementia and alzheimers and how chiropractors can help patients slow the effects and in some cases even reverse the changes in the brain.

    FACT: Functional Analysis Chiropractic Technique

Dr. Fred Clary, D.C., D.I.B.C.N. is the creator of the newest chiropractic technique, Functional Analysis. This technique focuses on detecting and correcting breathing inefficiencies as well as gait patterns

        Taping & Sports Medicine

In this seminar Dr. Morgan will teach:

Visceral Manipulation & Soft Tissue Treatments

Dr. Dolbin will give an integrative approach to evaluation and treatment that requires assessment of the structural relationships between the viscera, and their fascial or ligamentous attachments to the musculoskeletal system.

Visceral Manipulation assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive and lymphatic dysfunction. It evaluates and treats the dynamics of motion and suspension in relation to organs, membranes, fascia and ligaments. It also increases proprioceptive communication within the body, thereby revitalizing a person and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture.

Strains in the connective tissue of the viscera can result from surgical scars, adhesions, illness, posture or injury. Tension patterns form through the fascial network deep within the body, creating a cascade of effects far from their sources for which the body will have to compensate. This creates fixed, abnormal points of tension that the body must move around, and this chronic irritation gives way to functional and structural problems.

This seminar encourages attendees to practice these techniques during the class to enhance confidence in the treatments and effectiveness.  Attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothes and if possible bring a portable or massage table.
