Cancer research is rapidly expanding beyond traditional genetic models to include cellular metabolism, metabolic signaling, epigenetics, and the mechanisms underlying the Warburg effect.
What does this evolving science mean for the chiropractor?
In this thought-provoking seminar, Dr. Carter brings together current research, clinical insights, and his own personal cancer journey to help chiropractors better understand the complex biological processes associated with cancer and recognize important considerations when working with these patients.
This seminar is designed to take complex scientific concepts and translate them into practical knowledge you can apply in your practice.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will explore:
Cancer Biology & Somatic Mutations — Understanding traditional genetic concepts and how they relate to cancer development.
Metabolism & the Warburg Effect — Examining how altered cellular metabolism and energy production are associated with tumor growth.
Biochemical & Metabolic Pathways — Exploring key signaling pathways involved in cellular function and metabolic regulation.
Epigenetics & Metabolic Reprogramming — Understanding the relationship between metabolism, gene expression, and aberrant cellular signaling.
Clinical Recognition — Learning what to look for when cancer-related concerns arise in patient cases.
Chiropractic Application — Understanding how this information can inform patient education, communication, referral, and case management within an appropriate chiropractic scope of practice.
Risk Management — Identifying important legal and clinical considerations when working with patients affected by cancer.
A Personal Perspective
Dr. Carter will also share insights from his own cancer-fighting journey, providing a personal perspective that brings context and relevance to the scientific material.
Dr. Carter is Board Certified in Rehabilitation. He served on the
