Recognizing Trauma Responses and Their Impact on Chiropractic Care

  • LIVE-STREAM Eastern Time (map)

Prior trauma can significantly influence a patient’s sense of trust, perception of physical touch, and response to hands-on examination and chiropractic care. For some patients, physical contact or certain clinical approaches may trigger stress responses that can create barriers to communication, comfort, and effective treatment.

This course will help chiropractors recognize trauma-related responses and better understand how past experiences may affect the patient-provider relationship and clinical care. Learn practical strategies for creating a more supportive, trauma-informed approach to examination and treatment—while minimizing the risk of unintentionally triggering prior trauma.

Gain the knowledge and tools to improve patient comfort, strengthen trust, and provide more effective, patient-centered chiropractic care.

However, attendees are welcome to attend for less than the full scheduled time and will receive credit for each full hour completed.

Attendance
Upon logging into or out  of Zoom (or the live-stream platform being used), actual time is  documented by the system .

Webcams
Each attendee must have a webcam on at all times during the seminar.  This is a rule with many state boards to be compliant with taking a class live-stream

Equipment / Computer
Live-Stream seminars are available using laptop computers or desktop computers only. I-phones and I-pads do not fulfill the requirements needed to comply with state board rules.

Additional Materials
If attendees are required to have anything with them, they will be told in the confirmation email sent the Monday prior to the seminar.

Attendees cannot share a computer with another attendee.  Each person attending must be on their own computer.

Day of the seminar
Doctors will be able to get into the Zoom classroom as early as 1/2 hour prior to start time.

Polls & Quizzes
Poll questions are posted at the beginning of each break and at the end of the seminar.  Attendees must answer these poll questions to document their attendance.

Leaving the Seminar
At the end of the day, click the “Leave Meeting” button at the bottom right of your computer screen. Zoom has logged the exact time of everyone in the meeting. Attendees can leave the seminar at any time by clicking the  “Leave Meeting” button. They will receive however many hours they were actually in the meeting.  Refer to CE hours (below) for information on how many CE hours the attendee will obtain if they leave early.

Technical Difficulties
If you have internet or electrical issues that disrupt your attendance, just let us know as soon as possible by emailing us and giving your name and the title of the seminar you were attending when you had these issues. Zoom will have documented the time you were logged in, and it also lets us know if you experienced any technical or electrical outages or issues. It also tells us if you just left the room on your own preference. You will get the number of hours you were logged in.

If we have technical or electrical outages: we will email you to let you know what’s happening. This is rare, and usually only happens when there are strong storms in the area of the instructor. In most cases, the instructor goes to his office/home or to a local hotel to reconnect. You will be disconnected if this happens, so check your email for any word from us on what is happening.

Cancellation and Transfer Policy
You may cancel your registration or transfer to another seminar of equal or lesser cost up until the Monday prior to the scheduled seminar. If you transfer to a seminar of lesser cost before that Monday, the overage will be refunded, minus a 3.5% credit card processing fee. If you cancel before that Monday, your registration fee—minus a 3.5% credit card processing fee—will be refunded. After that Monday, all fees become non-refundable and non-transferable.

Seminar Policy
Seminars will proceed as scheduled as long as at least one doctor is registered at least one week prior to the seminar date, and none of the exceptions listed below apply. If no registrations are received by that time, the seminar will be canceled.

Exceptions to Scheduled Seminars: A seminar may be postponed, canceled, or adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:
Acts of God (e.g., natural disasters), Government regulations or restrictions (e.g., COVID-related shutdowns), Instructor medical emergencies, Major travel disruptions (e.g., flight delays or cancellations that prevent arrival). If any of these events occur, you will be notified immediately and offered a suitable alternative—such as a rescheduled date, a substitute instructor, or a switch to a live-streamed format—provided the alternative preserves the legitimacy and accreditation of your continuing education hours.

Attendee Code of Conduct
To maintain a professional and respectful learning environment, any participant who engages in disruptive or inappropriate behavior toward others will be asked to leave the seminar. According to the CE Hours Policy above, attendance credit will be granted only for the time you are physically present in the seminar room. Fetterman Events reserves the right to remove any person who they deem is being disruptive or inappropriate and inhibiting the learning of other attendees.
