Cervical & Lumbar Radiculopathies: Advanced Assessment & Evidence-Informed Treatment

  • ROMULUS, MI Romulus, MI (map)

When a patient presents with radiating pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, or changes in sensation, knowing how to identify the source is critical. This clinically focused course provides chiropractors with a comprehensive approach to the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and management of cervical and lumbar radiculopathies.

Through a structured clinical approach, you’ll learn how to recognize radicular presentations, differentiate potential sources of neurological symptoms, identify relevant pathology, and use your examination findings to guide appropriate treatment and clinical decision-making.

This Course Is Designed to Help You:

  • Strengthen Your Neurological Examination Skills — Develop a systematic approach to evaluating patients with suspected cervical or lumbar radiculopathy, including sensory, motor, reflex, and orthopedic findings.

  • Recognize Radicular Presentations — Identify common signs and symptoms associated with cervical and lumbar nerve root involvement and understand how these presentations may differ from other spinal and musculoskeletal conditions.

  • Improve Clinical Diagnosis — Learn how to correlate patient history, physical examination findings, neurological deficits, and imaging to develop a more complete clinical picture.

  • Identify Relevant Pathology — Explore common conditions that may contribute to cervical and lumbar radiculopathies and learn what findings may require additional evaluation or referral.

  • Streamline Clinical Decision-Making — Develop a clear framework for determining appropriate examination, diagnostic, treatment, and referral strategies.

  • Apply Targeted Chiropractic Treatment Strategies — Explore treatment approaches based on the patient's presentation, examination findings, neurological involvement, and clinical needs.

  • Recognize Red Flags & Referral Considerations — Improve your ability to identify findings that may indicate a more serious underlying condition or the need for additional diagnostic evaluation.

  • Improve Patient Outcomes — Integrate examination, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education into a cohesive clinical approach designed to improve function and patient care.

Build Confidence in Managing Radicular Presentations

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your neurological examination skills, improve your ability to identify cervical and lumbar nerve root involvement, or expand your approach to complex spinal presentations, this course provides a practical clinical framework you can immediately apply in practice.
